People wear them to hold their kilt hose (socks) in place and prevent them from slipping down. They also add a traditional and decorative element to Highland dress.

They are worn by attaching them to the socks with the elastic band, placing them just below the knee. Make sure the flashes are visible at the front of the leg and are evenly aligned on both legs.

Scottish flashes are worn with kilt hose as part of traditional Highland dress. They are usually worn during formal Scottish events, ceremonies, weddings, and cultural celebrations.

Clean kilt flashes by gently wiping them with a slightly damp cloth and then letting them air dry. Store them flat or hang them properly to keep them wrinkle-free and prevent the elastic from stretching.
